I paid $10.00 for it, and "Frog" the local Mechanic got it running for another $5.00.
Needed a push for a compression start, but hell that was easy when you had three friends who had no car.
Later when I worked as a bill collector I had a 50 Dodge fluid dirve. Got a ticket for speeding up the Rt.1 hill in Trevose PA. (Think Neshamminy Mall). When the local cop took me in front of the JP, the old Jp laughed and said "Speeding up the hill in a fluid drive was impossible"!
"Suprised he didn't roll backwards"
Case Dismissed"!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19041693.post-39604570055957574312013-03-31T15:13:42.759-04:002013-03-31T15:13:42.759-04:00Remember the Reedman specials back in the 60s for ...Remember the Reedman specials back in the 60s for $39.00? I probably should have bought one rather than the 56 Pontiac convertible and broken suspension I got from Sabatini's Used Cars up on Brunswick Ave. That car was the original low rider. ;-)SJBillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01396634140715010591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19041693.post-74128332437408597232013-03-30T23:14:21.034-04:002013-03-30T23:14:21.034-04:00I HAVE A 1941 DE SOTO FLUID DRIVE. MY WIFE WON 25 DOLLARS AT A BINGO GAME AND WE BOUGHT A 1933 CHEVY WITHOUT TIRES WITH THE MONEY. I THINK TIRES WERE HARD TO GET AT THAT TIME. WE DID OUR OWN MECHANICAL WORK, MY GOOD FRIEND FREDDY DeBRONZO AND I, THE MEMORIES OF THOSE YEARS ARE SOMETHING SPECIAL. THANKS AGAIN TOM. RALPH LUCARELLAnoreply@blogger.com
