Can you say, "Demisemiseptcentennial
or how about quartoseptcentennial? Well if you
can't, it is quite understandable. If a centennial is 100 years and
other familiar "centennials" are easily recognized, how do we represent
175 years? The answer lies in the above tongue
twister terms. Bottom line: Mercer County celebrates its 175th
anniversary in this year of 2013. I will be posting Mercer County
related material on this website during the celebratory year. Hopefully,
these posts will survive the ages and be available to future
generations.
