1937: ST. JOACHIM STUDENTS

Can you imagine the thrill these boys experienced when they and they and John Persi were honored with an audience with Pope Pius XI? Then Premier Mussolini also received the boys. Like the late, great Sacred Heart Grammar School, St. Joachim's turned out many well rounded educations for its students; Mario, Dominick and John were fine examples.

HI TOM...MARIO LAURENTI WAS REALLY A GOOD KID AND BROTHER OF LARRY LAURENTI, A GOOD FRIEND WHO WENT ON TO OWN SEVERAL SHOP-RITE SUPER MARKETS IN THE TRENTON AREA. LATER IN LIFE, MARIO'S SON JEFFERY WAS A MAJOR PERSON IN THE UNITED NATIONS COMPLEX. BEST REGARDS.

Ralphie:

Was this Mario "Goose" Laureti the great athlete? I admired him when I was a young soccer player.

His son Jeff married Yuki when Jeff began his Gov't career.
Now Larry was my all time favorite. I met him when he built his new Shop Rite in 1962 on the Penningto Circle at the site of the old Parkers Diner. I had just married, and Joan and I lived on a farm behind the Shop Rite.
Larry was one helluva guy. A real friend.
