1950: NO. OLDEN AVENUE EXTENSION

WOW, what an interesting photo! How this area has developed over the years! I worked at 1812 North Olden Avenue back in 1952 and made the trip from the Greenwood Village apartments on a daily basis. When we consider the incredible crowding on today's Olden Avenue Extension, the above photo is a stark reminder that there has been an incredible change in what always has been a busy thoroughfare.

Tom, is the street on the right Arctic Parkway? Just trying to get my bearings.

Hi Guys: I think Arctic Parkway is on the right in the photo. The Arctic Quinset Hut is still there on the left because we passed it when we went to the Trenton Farmers Mkt. a few years back when we visited Trenton. It must be connected to the Arctic Ice Cream that was once across from The Strand Theater on Hermitage Ave. Regards.

THAT IS INDEED THE ARCTIC PARKWAY COMING IN FROM THE RIGHT. I REALLY HAD FORGOTTEN ABOUT THAT WHITE BUILDING AND THE RR CROSSING.

Tom:
That White Building became Harr Brothers Motorcyles. The corner shown with the Billboards was ultimately bought by my THS classmate the lawyer Sid Hofing who built several stores the most prominent was Olden Paint and carpeting.
