1912: PENNINGTON AVENUE IN THE INGHAM AVENUE-RESERVOIR AREA

This isnteresting old photo from the Gazette is relatively clear when compared to many offset photos from the early 20th century. As to the actual location on Pennington Avenue, a Google search showed that we are in the area of the reservoir, Ingham Avenue, and environs. The Monument Pottery was located on the Trenton side of Ingham Avenue.

Tom, so hard to figure this one out. My wife lived next to Romeo and Juliet's Bar on the corner of Ingham and Calhoun. Seems like that would be near this picture. Ron

Ron. Tom:

I think the resevoir they are referring too, was located on Calhoun St. just above Pennington Ave., across from Sweets,and Fountain Ave. For years the City water Dept. kept equipment on these lots, and across Calhoun St. was a series of red brick garages for their trucks.
Many of my North Trenton friends now in thier mid 80's to 90's, spoke of swimming in the "Ressie" along Calhoun St.
Ron, funny you should mention Romeo & Juliet Tavern. They were clients of mine, and wonderful famalies ran that place. Was just talking about them to my old partner Bob Maida who would I would have lunch there with him at least once a week.

Merry Christmas friends up North.

Thanks for the info Mike. Wife's grandpa went to Romeo and Juliet's most days, I think there was only a parking lot between their house and the bar.
6 inches of snow overnight here in Nebraska, Omaha suburb.

Better you than me with the snow.
I was out hitting golf balls testing my rotator cuff repair ( 2nd time) in five years) from a few months ago. The recovery is getting longer as I grow older.

BTW, I have been meaning to ask;
My buddy Jimmy Dolan had a long time friend "Hooker" Bound who he introduced me to back in the 50's.
I think his given name was James.
Any relation?
