1948: THE RUSTIC BAR AND GRILL - 638 BRUNSWICK AVENUE

I am not familiar with this section of Trenton, but would wager that a number of my visitors have comments regarding the Bar and the local neighborhood. This segmented photo has been modified from the original which is a general view of the area. However, the segmented version lends a bit of nostalgic ambiance to an area that was once a vital part of the city of Trenton.

It's the block between Paul & Phillips Aves. My good friend and barber Vito Miceli lived at 639 Brunswick. The big buiding on the left is Trenton Pipe and Nipple. Mercer Motors was owned by two really nice guys who you could rely on to sell you a decent car.
The corner of Phillips ave was a small gas station, which later became a car lot, Carmen Ferlisi's family luncheonette, and Daylight Tramontana's Clearners. It was two blocks from McKinley Hospital.

As usual, an interesting take on the 600 block of Brunwick Avenue. Thanks Mike.

My Grandmother owned the tavern and my father lived above it. Thank you so much for the picture. I didn’t have one.
