1934: CHILDREN'S BOOK WEEK AT THE LIBRARY

This photo was taken when the Hamilton Township Public Library was located in the basement of the township municipal building at 2090 Greenwood Avenue. I have many pleasant memories of visiting that small and austere library back in the 1940's and early 1950's. The Dewey decimal system survives, but long gone are the cabinets that held those little library cards that listed titles, location, etc.

Hi Tom:One of my favorite spots growing up in West Trenton was the branch library on Hermitage Avenue. It was a quiet space that I can still visualize. The librarian used to check our hands to make sure we were OK to handle the books. The checkout desk was in the front and it was just a wonderful to place to visit. It served me well. Regards
