1932: TYPICAL CLASS ROOM IN THE NEW TRENTON CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL

This is a graphic from the newspapers of early January, 1932 heralding the opening of the new Trenton Central High School. The room in the photo is typical of the seating arrangement in my high school and grammar school years. Usually 5 rows with the center row facing the teacher's desk. In the numerous visits I have made to local schools, the desk arrangement is much more informal; the old conventional 5 row arrangement no longer the rule.
