DOWNTOWN TRENTON Ca. 1930

Another beautiful and rare photo of South Broad Steet looking north to E. State, thanks to the Duke University Archives, R.C. Maxwell Photo Collection. Check out those beautiful old cars! The original was scanned in color and converted to gray scale for better definition. It is truly an historic photo of a lively and viable city of Trenton during the roaring 20's.

HI TOM....IT APPPEARS EVERYONE IN THAT PHOTO IS WEARING A HAT. IT'S STRANGE HOW MUCH THINGS CHANGE THRU THE YEARS. THEY ALSO DON'T SEEM TO WORRY ABOUT WALKING IN THE STREETS WITHOUT ALL THE AUTOS. IN CHAMBERSBURG WE NEVER LOCKED OUR DOORS AND EVERFYONE SEEMED TO BE RELATIVES. I PREFER THE WAY THINGS WERE IN THOSE DAYS. REGARDS.
