1909: TRENTON'S WILKINSON PLACE STREET CARNIVAL

During Trenton's "Golden Years," neighborhoods were much different from what we see in cities all over the country. Back then, as seen by the photo illustrating Wilkinson Place's "Street Carnival," friends and neighbors worked together to maintain a clean and orderly community. The Bing photo I borrowed from the Bing website shows that Wilkinson Place still maintains the strip of land which at one time was occupied by many row homes. The homes in the 1909 news photo can still be seen in the upper right of the Bing photo.
