1930: LAVINES AMERICAN LEAGUE BASEBALL

Ralph Lucarella, I need your input here. Is that Palumbo fella in the photo the guy I recall reading about many years ago as "Kelly" Palumbo? And how is the Maurice Rossi in the photo connected to our current local legend, Rossi's in the burg? Your assistance, please!

Hi Tom: You are correct, Carl Palunbo above is Kelly Palumbo who manged the Schroths to the American Legion World Series in 1948. I remember Mickey Tott who was the first American Legion manager before Jake Miller and then Kelly took over. I do not believe the Rossi above is related to the Rossi Bar & Grill family in the Burg. Best Regards.

Tom: I might add, sitting directly below Carl Palumbo, is George(Shorty)Nemchick, who latter played on the United States Olimpic Soccer Team and was outstanding at Trenton High and many other Leagues.

I can't see the picture referred to in the comment. As it happens, however, I do have what appears to be a picture of the 1930 team, including (among others) Messrs. Palumbo, Tott, and Vine (my dad, Ted Vine). George Nemchick might be in the picture, but he is not identified in the caption of the picture that I have.
