1988: DEL RIO: HOME OF CARL DEANGELO'S KNIGHTS OF THE ROUNDTABLE

WHAT FOND MEMORIES I HAVE OF THIS GREAT OLD HAMILTON LANDMARK! BACK WHEN I WAS A TEENAGER IN THE LATE 40'S AND EARLY 50'S, CARL DE ANGELO'S DEL RIO WAS ONE OF THE PLACES MY BUDDIES AND I STOPPED FOR A LATE NIGHT SNACK AFTER WE DROPPED OUR GIRL FRIENDS OFF AT THEIR HOMES. CARL HAD A LARGE MARBLE TOPPED ROUND TABLE WHICH HE SET ASIDE FOR US, DUBBING US THE "KNIGHTS OF THE ROUND TABLE." DEL RIO STARTED IN THE EARLY 40'S AS A WALK UP HOT DOG - HAMBURGER STAND AND EVOLVED INTO A RESTAURANT WHICH MANY OF US MISS TO THIS VERY DAY.

RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING COMMENT FROM "OMAD" FROM ST. ANTHONY GRAMMAR SCHOOL CLASS OF '49. THANKS FOR THE INPUT. MANY THANKS FOR WRITING, "OMAD":
Amazing!! This past week 13 of us who are St Anthony Grammar School grads, class of '49, (from all over now) had lunch in Trenton at the Blue Danube. Four of us traveled down Hamilton past Del Rio and I said it was always my favorite place and well remembered even though I have been out of Trenton for over 50 years. There was agreement from all that it was theirs also. Guess there really are no coincidences, because there it is in all its original glory.
